SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College football team broke the all-time single game scoring record after posting a 69-31 Northeast-10 victory over Pace University Saturday afternoon at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The previous record for points in a game was 62 in at 1999 win over Stonehill.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-4 overall and 5-2 in the Northeast-10 with the win and remain in contention for a share of the conference title following New Haven's season-ending 35-26 loss to Saint Anselm. An AIC win at Assumption next week would tied the two teams at 6-2 in conference play. The Setters are now 0-8 overall and 0-6 in the NE-10.
The game was never in doubt as AIC scored each of the game's first nine touchdowns. The Yellow Jackets led 35-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter and took a 55-3 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Senior quarterback
Rob Parent (West Warwick, R.I.) was a perfect 11-for-11 for 254 yards and four touchdowns in the first half before being replaced by freshman Dan Pugliese (Hope, R.I.) in the second half. Parent is now just one TD pass away from tying Tom Guy's record of 73 career touchdown passes.
Freshman running back
Bryant Fitzgerald (Highland, Park, N.Y.) had a career day as he carried the ball 17 times for 199 yards and three of AIC's five rushing scores. His scoring plays went for 51, 50 and 32 yards.

Terrell Williams (Hempstead, N.Y.) had seven carries for 72 yards, including a 47-yard scoring run, while sophomore
Mike Mayo (Roosevelt, N.Y.) had three carries for 37 yards and had a 19-yard touchdown run.
Junior wide receiver
Andre Samuels (Linden, N.J.) had four catches for 95 yards and two TDs, one was a 32-yard catch to open the scoring three minutes into the game and the other was a nine-yard score 53 seconds into the second quarter.
Senior wide receiver
Davon LeGrier (Paterson, N.J.) caught one pass, a 44-yard score in the first quarter, while freshman wide receiver
Cal Brownridge (Newark, N.J.) had two catches for 41 yards with a 29-yard scoring catch.
Sophomore defensive back
Markell Rice (New Rochelle, N.Y.) got into the scoring act as well when he returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown. He also had two tackles in the game.
Senior running back Jason Washington (Bronx, N.Y.) had a record-setting day for Pace as he carried the ball 36 times for school-record 242 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 245 kickoff return yards in the game, giving him 487 all-purpose yards. Washington had 210 rushing yards and scored all four TDs in the second half.

Terrence Holley (Bogota, N.J.), junior linebacker C.J.Fresia (Lee, Mass.), sophomore linebacker
Darius Evans (Linden N.J.) and sophomore defensive lineman
Irving Williams (New York, N.Y.) had six tackles each for AIC. Williams also had 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and one forced fumble.
Junior defensive back David Lopez (Ozone Park, N.Y.) had a game-high eight tackles for the Setters, while sophomore defensive lineman Matthew Grosser (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) had seven tackles with one tackle for loss.
The Yellow Jackets will close out the 2010 season November 13 at Assumption at 1 p.m.
