LOWELL, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team lost Wednesday evening 4-0 in a non-conference contest at UMass Lowell. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 7-6 overall, while the River Hawks improved to 14-0 overall.
Senior forward Sammy Macy (Tewksbury, Mass.) tallied two goals, while senior forward Katie Enaire (Amesbury, Mass.) and freshman forward/midfielder Rachel McCarthy (Reading, Mass.) each had one goal for UMass Lowell. Senior forward Lizzy Ales (Arlington, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Vanessa Kent (Charlton, Mass.) each had an assist for the River Hawks.

Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y.) made 10 saves in 42 minutes in the loss, while senior goalie
Nicole Spence made seven saves in 28 minutes for the Yellow Jackets. Freshman goalie Melanie Hopkins (Harwich, Mass.) stopped 1 in earning the victory for UMass Lowell.
The River Hawks outshot AIC 29-4 and had 13-5 advantage in penalty corners.
Next up the Yellow Jackets will host Assumption College on Saturday afternoon for a 12 p.m. non-conference contest.
