SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men's soccer team took a 1-0 win against 14th ranked Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 contest. The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the NE-10 with their fourth straight win, while the Warriors fell to 7-2-0 overall and 5-2-0 in conference play.

Senior forward/midfielder Emile Barnett (Huntington, N.Y.) scored on a header off a corner kick from freshman forward Miguel Rodriguez-Lapman (Cheshire, Conn.) at 62 minutes.

Junior goalkeeper James Taber (Liverpool, N.Y.) made four saves in earning the victory for the Yellow Jackets, while senior goalkeeper Kevin Joyce (Mansfield, Mass.) stopped four in the loss.

Shots were even at nine, while AIC had the advantage in corner kicks at 5-4.

AIC will travel to Franklin Pierce on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. game.
