Field Hockey Upended by Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team fell to 0-3 this season as they lost to Merrimack Saturday afternoon 6-0. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-1 to open Northeast-10 play, while the win improves the Warriors 1-3 for the year and to 1-1 in the conference.

Senior Jaclyn Germano (Westwood, Mass.) led Merrimack as she scored twice. Freshmen April Daugherty (Lincoln, R.I.), Katie Zubkus (Dover, N.H.), Jen Otis (Penacook, N.H.), and Jill Boyce (Sanford, Maine) each added a goal in the win.

Sophomore #Kim Steiner# (Little Falls, N.Y.) made eight saves in the loss for AIC, while freshman Kerri Berqquist (Mashpee, Mass.) stopped six shots to record the shutout.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets travel to St. Michael's tomorrow at 12p.m.
