Slippery Rock, Pa. – The American International College field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision at Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon in the season-opening contest for both teams.
Junior forward Katie Krouse (Red Lion, Pa.) scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 9:23 to go in the first half and junior forward Samantha Badaczewski (Susquehanna Township, Pa.) added her first goal of the year with 3:13 to go in the opening stanza to give The Rock a 2-0 halftime lead.
Freshman forward Ariana White (Selinsgrove, Pa.) assisted on both goals and scored two of her own to open the second half scoring. Junior midfielder Allie Hartman (New Cumberland, Pa.) added a goal in the 57th-minute for the 5-0 final.
