Springfield, Mass. – Sophomore designated hitter #Corey Ketterer# (Plymouth, Mass.) hit a soft-liner down the right field line to score sophomore shortstop #Dan Mooney# (Bennington, Vt.) from third to give the American International College baseball team a 4-3 Northeast-10 win over UMass Lowell at AIC Park Sunday afternoon. The win improved the Yellow Jackets' record to 5-18 overall and 3-8 in the NE-10, while the Riverhawks dropped to 15-7 and 8-4.

Sophomore right fielder Dillon Fontaine (Amenia, N.Y.), senior center fielder #Dan Fey# (Plymouth, Mass.), and senior first baseman #Kevin Farrell# (Wilbraham, Mass.) each singled to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth. Sophomore catcher #Anthony Arrichiello# (Yonkers, N.Y.) singled through the left side to plate two runs and bring AIC within one run. Mooney hit a sharp grounder to short and senior pinch-runner #John Thorpe# (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was able to beat the throw home to score the tying run.

Senior #Dan Nugent# (Cambridge, Mass.) went 8.2 innings with five Ks for the Yellow Jackets, but didn't get the decision. Freshman #John Hanna# (Dudley, Mass.) earned his third win of the season out of the bullpen. Junior Dustin Ramey (Kingston, N.H.) pitched 8.2 innings and struck out six in the loss for UMass Lowell.

AIC returns to action Tuesday for a conference match-up at Stonehill at 3:30 p.m.
