West Haven, Conn. – The American International College baseball team registered a 4-3 win at the University of New Haven Tuesday afternoon in a Northeast-10 contest. The win improved the Yellow Jackets to 3-16 overall and 1-6 in the NE-10, while the Chargers dropped to 8-9 and 4-5.

AIC got on the board in the second inning when a bases loaded single to right by senior center fielder #Dan Fey# (Plymouth, Mass.) scored sophomore shortstop #Dan Mooney# (Bennington, Vt.). Fey went 3-4 on the day with a stolen base.

Senior #Dan Nugent# (Cambridge, Mass.) earned the win for the Yellow Jackets, while allowing one run in five innings pitched. Freshman #John Hanna# (Dudley, Mass.) pitched a shutout ninth inning to nail down the win for his first save of the season. Sophomore Alex Smith (Manchester, Conn.) went 4.2 innings and allowed four runs, three earned, in the loss for the New Haven.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Thursday when they host New Haven at 3:30 p.m.
