Baseball Drops 4-2 Decision to Pace

Pleasantville, N.Y. – The American International College baseball dropped a Northeast-10 contest to Pace, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 2-14 overall and 0-4 in the NE-10, while the Setters improved to 8-11-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

AIC tied the game 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning on a single by freshman first baseman #Julian Concepcion# (Woodstock Valley, Conn.) to score sophomore rightfielder #Dillon Fontaine# (Amenia, N.Y.). Pace would retake the lead in the bottom of the seventh with a homerun to right by sophomore leftfielder Kenny Wright (Middle Island, N.Y.).

Freshman reliever Stephen D'Angelo (Scotch Plains, N.J.) pitched 1.2 innings to earn the victory for the Setters. Senior lefthander Nicholas DeMeo (Farmingville, N.Y.) lasted 5.1 innings, allowed two runs, and struck out six in the start.

Freshman #Eric Cuadrado# (Yonkers, N.Y.) started for the Yellow Jackets, but only pitched 1.1 innings before being lifted for reliever #Zach Bunszell# (Medford, Mass.). Bunszell went five innings and gave up two runs in the loss for AIC.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday for a doubleheader at Franklin Pierce at 12 pm.
