Saint Leo, Fla. – The American International College baseball team played its final game of a 10 game road trip in Florida Friday night. The Yellow Jackets were taken down by Saint Leo 13-0. With the loss AIC dropped to 1-9, while the Lions improved to 10-15.
Saint Leo scored two runs in the first innings, which proved to be enough to defeat the visiting Yellow Jackets. Senior shortstop Bobby Munoz (Tampa, Fla.) lined a single to center field with on out and scored on a two-run homerun by senior designated hitter Jonathan Duncan (Starke, Fla.). Senior leadoff hitter and center fielder Kyle Hobbs (Dade City, Fla.) finished the game going 5-5 with four runs batted in and one scored.
Junior starter Seth Fowler (Tampa, Fla.) went the distance for the Lions without giving up a single run. He finished the game with nine strikeouts and allowed only five hits. Sophomore #
Sean Stevenson# (Holyoke, Mass.) suffered his second loss of the season for AIC, despite striking out seven betters in six innings.
The Yellow Jackets return from Florida for a doubleheader at home against Bloomfield on March 19.
