Farrell Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week

South Easton, Mass. – Senior #Kevin Farrell# (Wilbraham, Mass.) of the American International College baseball team was named the Northeast-10 Player of the week for his performance last week. The Yellow Jackets are currently in Florida for their spring break and have a record of 1-4 so far this season. Junior #Dan Bassani# (Naples, Fla.) joins Farrell as he was named to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll.

Farrell batted .500 (8-16) with one double, two home runs, eight RBI and six runs scored in the team's first four games of the year. He had a monster game in the 10-9 come-from-behind win against Saint Anselm, hitting a two-run bomb in the first inning and then crushing a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. Farrell went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI against Bentley and was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored against Rollins.

Bassani batted .385 (5-13) with a double, a home run, two RBI and four runs scored in the first four games of the season. He went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and four runs scored in a 10-9 come from- behind win over Saint Anselm.

Next up, AIC continues their spring break in Florida with a game against Bentley at Rollins College tonight at 6 p.m.
