GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The American International College Men's Basketball team fell to Adelphi University 74-65 Saturday night in New York. With the loss the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-3 this season and to 4-2 in the Northeast-10, while the win improves the Panthers to 6-1 overall and to 4-1 in the conference. Sophomore #Isiah Wallace# (Springfield, Mass.) led the way for AIC with 22 points and nine boards.

Senior #Aikeem Vanderhorst# (Bay Shore, N.Y.) knocked down 11 points to go with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while junior #Allen Aragbaye# (Corona, Calif.) netted nine points with five rebounds. Freshman #Ricky Hudson# (Sewell, N.J.) had seven points on the evening.

The Panthers held a 44-39 lead at the half.

Junior Richard Byrd (Central Islip, N.Y.) propelled Adelphi with 23 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while senior Casey Cosgrove (Andover, Mass.) knocked down 15 points with six assists and four boards. Sophomore Robert Johnson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) also put down 15 points in the win for the Panthers.

AIC shot 38.2% on the night while Adelphi shot 38.7% from the field.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets host Pace on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Butova Gymnasium.
