SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore forward
Isiah Wallace (Springfield, Mass.) poured in a game-high 35 points and hit the game-tying three with 22 seconds left in regulation, but it was not enough as the American International College men's basketball team dropped a 76-73 overtime decision to Pace University Tuesday night at Butova Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets (4-4, 4-3 NE-10) trailed for most of regulation and were down six, 64-58, after sophomore guard Ryan Woods (Staten Island, N.Y.)
hit a three with 1:51 left in regulation. Wallace then hit back-to-back threes in the final 51 seconds to force the extra period.
The Setters (4-3, 4-2 NE-10) scored the first six points in overtime, but AIC battled back and pulled back within one on a Wallace three with just five seconds left on the clock. The Yellow Jackets then fouled Woods on the ensuing inbounding play and he hit both free throws for the 76-73 final.
AIC had one final shot to extend the game, but Wallace's three was off the mark and freshman forward David Eismeier (Burke, Va.) grabbed the rebound as time expired.
Sophomore guard Adrian Mills (Woodbridge, Va.) scored 20 points with four rebounds, four steals and two assists to lead the Setters. Woods added 17 points and five boards and McGhee finished with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Aikeem Vanderhorst# (Bay Shore, N.Y.) registered a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 14 boards. He is now tied with Rance Porter for 24th on AIC's career scoring list with 1,070 career points. Vanderhorst needs just three points to pass Joe Moore for 23rd in career points.
Pace shot 38.7 percent (25-79) from the field, 25 percent (5-20) from three-point range and 65 percent (13-20) from the free throw line. The Yellow Jackets shot 32.9 percent (23-70) from the floor, 20.8 percent (5-24) from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent (22-28) from the charity stripe.
AIC will look to snap its three-game losing skid Saturday when it hosts Saint Leo University in a non-conference contest. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. at Butova Gymnasium.
