Isiah Wallace# (Springfield, Mass.) scored a game-high 25 points to lead four Yellow Jackets in double-figures as the American International College men's basketball team posted an 80-64 win at the College of Saint Rose Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 contest. Wallace was 9-of-13 from the field and fell just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.
AIC improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Golden Knights dropped to 1-2 for the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets shot an impressive 53.7 percent (29-54) from the field and 40 percent (8-20) from three, while holding Saint Rose to 36.5 percent (19-52) from the floor and 25 percent (5-20) from beyond the arc.

Allen Aragbaye# (Corona, Calif.) finished the game with 19 points after going 8-of-14 from the field and 3-of-6 from downtown while pulling down five boards. Junior forward #

The Golden Knights were led by sophomore forward Brian Hanuschak (Cumberland, R.I.), who registered a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He made 7-of-9 attempts from the floor and was 5-of-6 at the line. Freshman guard Andre Pope (White Plains, N.Y.) poured in 17 points with four assists, three rebounds and three steals, while sophomore forward Sheldon Griffin (Lititz, Pa.) chipped in with 12 points.
AIC held a slim 17-16 lead eight minutes into the contest before going on a 14-3 run over the next 6:30 to take a 31-19 lead. The Yellow Jackets never looked back from there, taking a 39-30 lead into the locker room at the half and led by as many as 21, 72-51, with 5:44 to go in the contest.
Saint Rose trailed 46-34 after an Aragbaye three 3:08 into the second half before going on a 9-1 run over the next two minutes to pull back within four, 47-43. AIC pushed right back with an 11-2 burst to open a 58-45 advantage and later used a 10-2 run to put the game out of reach.
The Yellow Jackets will look for their third straight win when they travel to Le Moyne College Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
