Men's Basketball Travels to Assumption Thursday

ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets enter today's contest with an overall record of 8-5 and are 5-4 in the Northeast-10 after registering a 61-45 win at Southern Connecticut Tuesday night. Freshman guard #Isiah Wallace# leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 17.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 25 steals and is second with 37 assists. Senior forward #Lucius Millinder# is second in scoring and rebounding with 11.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. Freshman guard #Adrian Hynes-Guery# is averaging 11.3 points and 4.8 boards per contest and leads the team with 40 assists. Junior forward #Aikeem Vanderhorst# is averaging 10.5 points and 5.5 boards per game. Sophomore guard #Sesoo Ikpah# is averaging 9.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while notching 25 assists and 16 steals.

LAST TIME OUT: AIC recorded a 61-45 victory at Southern Connecticut State University Tuesday night at Moore Fieldhouse. Wallace led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Yellow Jackets. Hynes-Guery netted 15 points to go with six rebounds for the Yellow Jackets and Millinder added 10 points and four rebounds. Senior guard Terron Jones led Southern Connecticut with 16 points and eight boards. The game remained close for the first 30 minutes of the contest and was tied at 37 with 9:17 to go in the game. AIC then went on a 24-8 run to close the contest and snap its two-game losing skid. The Yellow Jackets shot 43.8 percent (21-48) from the field and 72 percent (18-25) from the free throw line, while the Owls shots 31.5 percent (17-54) from the floor and 78.6 percent (11-14) from the charity stripe.

ABOUT ASSUMPTION: The Greyhounds enter tonight's contest with an overall record of 8-5 and are 6-3 in the Northeast-10 after recording an 81-67 win at Pace Tuesday night. They have gone 6-2 over their last eight games after a 2-3 start to the season. Sophomore forward/guard Mike Baldarelli leads the team in scoring with 14.5 points per game and ranks third in rebounding with 6.4 boards per contest. He also leads the team with 17 steals and is third with 29 assists. Graduate forward/guard Greg Twomey leads the team with 51 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 14.2 points per game. Sophomore center Savoy Fraine is averaging 12.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and leads the team with 23 blocked shots for the season.

NEXT UP: The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday when they conference newcomer New Haven at 3:30 p.m. in a Northeast-10 contest.

LAST TIME THEY MET: AIC outscored Assumption 45-30 in the second half to overcome a 29-25 halftime deficit to record a 70-59 win in Worcester January 30, 2008. Vanderhorst netted 17 points and grabbed eight boards for the Yellow Jackets, while #Colson Senat# added 13 points and eight boards. Twomey tallied 15 points with 11 rebounds for the Greyhounds.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Assumption holds a 50-47 lead in the series with AIC which began in 1933-34. The Greyhounds have captured 10 of the last 14 meetings between the two teams.
