ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets enter today's contest with an overall record of 7-4 after dropping a 60-57 decision to Bridgeport in a non-conference contest. Freshman guard
Isiah Wallace leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 17.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 23 steals and is second with 35 assists. Senior forward
Lucius Millinder is second in scoring and rebounding with 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest and junior forward
Aikeem Vanderhorst is averaging 11.2 points and 5.7 boards per game. Freshman guard
Adrian Hynes-Guery is averaging 10.7 points and 4.8 boards per contest and leads the team with 37 assists. Sophomore guard
Sesoo Ikpah is averaging 9.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while notching 22 assists and 13 steals.
LAST TIME OUT: AIC dropped a 60-57 decision to the University of Bridgeport December 20 in a non-conference contest. The Yellow Jackets held a 53-52 lead with 3:41 to go in the contest before Lee Frazier gave the Purple Knights the lead for good with a layup on the ensuing possession. AIC got two looks at a game-tying three, but both shots were off the mark and Bridgeport held on for the win. Hynes-Guery scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, while Wallace tallied 15 points with nine boards.
ABOUT SAINT ROSE: The Golden Knights enter today's contest with an overall record of 4-7 after splitting a pair of games at the C.W. Post Holiday Invitational, falling to the host Pioneers, 74-61, and defeating NYIT, 68-49. Saint Rose fell to 2-4 in the Northeast-10 after dropping a 78-51 decision at No. 13 Bentley December 8. Junior guard Jermaine Clark leads the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game and had a team-best 18 steals. He ranks second on the team with 23 assists. Freshman guard Shea Bromirski is second on the team scoring with 11.7 points per game and leads the team with 25 assists. Senior forward Evan Lane is averaging 11.4 points per game and leads the team with 8.8 boards per contest. He also leads the team with 18 blocked shots. Junior forward Malcolm Williams is averaging 7.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.
LAST TIME THEY MET: The two teams split the season series during the 2007-08 campaign, with the home team winning both contests. AIC recorded a 67-66 win over then No. 20 Saint Rose November 25 in Springfield and the Golden Knights defeated the Yellow Jackets, 86-76, February 16 in Albany. In the second game, both teams made 28 shots, including nine threes each and had five players score in double figures. The game was decided at the free throw line, where Saint Rose went 21-25 at the line, while AIC was just 11-20 from the charity stripe.
