Waltham, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision at Bentley Sunday afternoon, dropping its record to 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in the Northeast-10. The Falcons, who were ranked sixth in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association preseason poll, improved to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Bentley got on the board 4:33 into the second half on junior forward Nicole Murphy's (Dedham, Mass.) second goal of the season and never looked back. Junior midfielders Allison St. Jean (Lebanon, Maine) and Abbie DeMusis (Guilford, Conn.) also scored for the Falcons. Junior goalie Alyssa Sliney (Brewster, Mass.) needed to make just one save to record the win in goal.

Sophomore goalie #Nicole Spence# (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) got the start in goal for AIC, allowing three goals and recording eight saves in 52:16. Freshman goalie #Kim Steiner# (Redford, N.Y.) made two stops in the 17:44 of the game.

Bentley outshot the Yellow Jackets 22-1 in the game and held an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners.

AIC will next travel to Assumption Wednesday for a 4 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
