HOLYOKE, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team lost to No. 8 C.W. Post Sunday afternoon, 3-1. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets record falls to 0-2 on the season, while the win improves the Pioneers record to 2-0. Freshman #Linsey Fernandes# (Ajax, Ont.) scored AIC's only goal of the game with the assist from senior #Jacki Lapointe# (Danvers, Mass.).

Senior Amber Limanni (Mickleton, N.J.) had all three goals for C.W. Post, scoring once in the first half and twice more in the second. Junior Krystal Napolitano (Coram, N.Y.) assisted on all three of Limanni's goals.

Sophomore goalie #Nicole Spence# (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) had seven stops on the day for the Yellow Jackets, while classmate Cortney Colern (Baker, N.Y.) made five stops for the Pioneers. The win improves Colern to a 2-0 record on the year, while Spence falls to 0-2

C.W. Post outshot the Yellow Jackets 17-8 and had a 13-2 advantage in penalty corners. The Pioneers did not score on any of their penalty corner opportunities.

Next up, AIC will take on second-ranked UMass-Lowell on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Holyoke High School.
