The Yellow Jackets four runs came late in the contest, as Franklin Pierce stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first stanza. Graduate student Brett Cooley was roughed up in the first, but settled down a bit to surrender five runs and eight hits over five innings on the hill.

The Ravens added a run in the second and one in the fifth to open up a five run advantage before the Yellow Jackets added a run of their own in the seventh.

In the seventh, junior Dan Fey (Plymouth, Mass.) singled home sophomore Dan Bassani (Naples, Fla.) who reached with one out, singling to left field and advancing to second after a wild pitch.

After Franklin Pierce posted another run, the Yellow Jackets answered back in the eighth scoring twice. Bassani, who also had two hits, an RBI and a run scored slapped a single to left center field after senior David Dest (Orange, Conn.) and Arichiello singled to lead off the inning. Prior to the Bassani RBI single, Dest touched home when freshman Kyle McNiff (Westfield, Mass.) reach on an error.

John Shivo (Ayer, Mass.) pitched an inning giving up two runs, John Scanlon (Glastonbury, Conn.) tossed one inning giving up one run and Sean Stevenson (Holyoke, Mass.) saw an inning of work giving up a run for the Yellow Jackets, all in relief.
In the ninth, trailing 9-3, Archiello singled home senior Jay Rustico (Southington, Conn.), but the Yellow Jacket bats couldn't muster a rally, falling 9-4.

AIC will host UMass-Lowell Saturday starting at 1:00 pm.
