Collegiate Baseball magazine, Tuesday afternoon at AIC Park 8-1. With the win, the Ravens improve their record to 25-7 on the season and 10-5 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 8-20 on the year and 6-11 in the conference. Freshman
Kyle McNiff (Westford, Mass.) went 3 for 3 on the day and scored AIC's only run.
Franklin Pierce jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when graduate student Jake Christman (Newton, Mass.) scored from third on an error at second base by senior
David Dest (Orange, Conn.). The Ravens scored again in the top of the third inning on a sacrifice fly to left field by freshman Derek Ingui (Sterling, Mass.), scoring senior Tyler Bishop (Milford, N.H.) from third base. Bishop went 4-4 on the day with three runs scored and one RBI, while Ingui was 1-3 with three RBIs and one run scored. Franklin Pierce added six more runs to put the game out of reach.
AIC scored its only run of the day in the bottom of the fourth inning when freshman
Herb Coggeshall (Coventry, Conn.) doubled down the left field line, scoring McNiff from third base. Coggeshall went 1-3 on the afternoon with one RBI.
Junior Corey Muscara (Manchester, N.H.) got the start for the Ravens but would only pitch 1.1 innings before being replaced by freshman Robbie Beaudoin (Somerset, Mass.). Beaudoin pitched 3.2 innings with four strikeouts and one earned run while earning his first victory of the season, bringing his record to 1-1. Freshman Dillion Fontaine (Amenia, N.Y.) pitched five innings for the Yellow Jackets, recording one strikeout and allowing five earned runs. With the loss Fontaine's record falls to 2-2 on the season.
