The Golden Lions (3-5) were led by junior guard David Seagers (Bronx, N.Y.) with 20 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard Keith Nandin (Queens, N.Y.) added 15 points and senior guard Leonard Lans (Spring Valley, N.Y.) contributed 14 points and six boards off the bench.
Dowling scored the first five points of the game and held an early 11-7 lead before the Yellow Jackets went on a 10-0 run to take a 17-11 lead 7:23 into the contest. AIC never trailed again and closed the opening stanza on an 8-2 run to take a 42-30 lead at the half.
The Yellow Jackets held a double-digit lead for most of the second half and used a 14-2 run to take a commanding 71-50 lead with 1:57 remaining in the contest. AIC then emptied its bench and the Golden Lions closed game with a 10-1 run for the 72-60 final.
