ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets enter tonight's contest with an overall record of 2-0 after opening the season with a pair of non-conference wins against University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Holy Family. Freshman guard
Isiah Wallace leads the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game and is second in rebounding with 8.5 rebounds per game. He also has a team-best six steals. Sophomore guard
Sesoo Ikpah is second in scoring at 14 points per game and senior forward
Lucius Millinder ranks third in scoring with 12 points per contest. He leads the team in rebounding with 9.5 boards per game. Junior guard
Mike Troll leads the team with 10 assists off the bench. AIC is averaging 71.5 points per game and is shooting 48.7 percent from the field, while its opponents are averaging 54 points per game and are shooting 36.7 percent from the floor.
ABOUT BENTLEY: The Falcons, who are ranked third in the NABC Preseason Coaches' Poll, enter tonight's contest with a record 3-1 after crushing Holy Family, 94-61. Bentley opened the season at the Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic, where the Falcons posted wins over Minnesota State and Southern Indiana and fell to St. Martin's. Jason Westrol leads the team in scoring with 22.5 points per game and is also averaging five rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Senior Lew Finnegan and Brian Tracey are tied for second on the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game a piece. Tracey leads the team in rebounding with 7.3 boards per game. Finnegan is averaging 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Bentley is averaging 79.5 points per game and is shooting 42.5 percent from the field, while its opponents are averaging 71.5 points per game and are shooting 42.1 percent from the floor.
AIC'S LAST TIME OUT: Wallace scored a season-high 21 points to lead AIC to a 75-54 win over Holy Family University Sunday afternoon. Each of AIC's five starters scored in double figures. Ikpah netted 16 points with six rebounds and two assists and Vanderhorst contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Millinder and freshman guard Adrien Hynes-Guery scored 12 and 10 points, respectfully, and had seven boards each. Wallace also had a game-high nine rebounds, four assists and four steals to go with his 21 points. The Yellow Jackets used a seven point run to take a 20-9 lead eight minutes into the game and led by 16 at the half, 42-26. AIC was up by 11 points, 58-47, with just under seven minutes left in the game and outscored the Tigers 17-7 down the stretch for the 75-54 final. AIC shot 60.9-percent (14-23) from the field in the second half and shot 51.7-percent (30-58) from the floor in the game. Yellow Jackets out-rebounded the Tigers 44-27 and had a 16-10 advantage on the offensive glass.
ABOUT THE SERIES: Bentley holds a 35-26 advantage in the all-time series with AIC and has won each of the last 14 contests. The last time the Yellow Jackets recorded a win over the Falcons was when AIC swept the 1999-2000 season series, posting a 97-88 overtime win in Waltham and a 70-56 win in Springfield.
WEEKLY HONORS: Freshman guard
Isiah Wallace was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week for his performance over the past weekend. Senior forward
Lucius Millinder was name to the Weekly Honor Roll. Wallace averaged 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 2-0 week. Millinder averaged 12 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 62.5 percent (10-16) from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line.
