Field Hockey Shut Out at Franklin Pierce, 3-0

Rindge, N.H. – The American International College field hockey team fell to host Franklin Pierce 3-0 Thursday evening, dropping its record to 4-13 overall and 4-12 in the Norhteast-10. The Ravens improved to 7-9 on the season and 7-8 in conference play. Freshman #Kim Steiner# (Redford, N.Y.) made eight saves in goal for the Yellow Jackets.

Sophomore Nicole Henrique (Swansea, Mass.) scored the only goal that Franklin Pierce would need in the 21st minute and junior Ashely Abernathy (Bellingham, Mass.) made it a 2-0 game 4:22 into the second half. Sophomore Ashley Moirano (Vero Beach, Calif.) capped the scoring in the 64th minute and freshman Kristin Tormollan (Waterville, Maine) made seven saves to record the win in goal.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday when they host Adelphi on Senior Day at noon. The game will be played Leary Field on the campus of Elms College.
