No. 9 Stonehill Blanks Field Hockey, 5-0

Easton, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to ninth-ranked Stonehill Tuesday afternoon. The Skyhawks improved to 8-6 on the season and 8-5 in the Northeast-10, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 4-12 overall and 4-11 in conference play. Freshman goalie #Kim Steiner# (Redford, N.Y.) made nine saves for AIC.

Junior forward/midfielder Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) scored twice in a span of 1:59 to give Stonehill a 2-0 lead at halftime and the Skyhawks never looked back as they added three second half goals for the 5-0 final. Sophomore goalie Courtney Osier (South Dennis, Mass.) started in goal for Stonehill and made three saves in 66:57 to record the win in goal.

AIC was out shot 22-6 in the game and the Skyhawks had a 14-4 advantage in penalty corners.

The Yellow Jackets return to action Thursday when they travel to Franklin Pierce for a 6 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
