North Andover, Mass. - The American International College men's basketball team dropped to 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in the Northeast-10 after an 83-74 loss at Merrimack, which improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. Senior guard
Jeff Dosado (Montreal, P.Q.) scored 19 points with five rebounds and three assists for the Yellow Jackets.
Senior guard Micky Burtnyk (Phoenix, Ariz.) and junior forward Chris Winters (East Lyme, Conn.) scored 16 points each for the Warriors, while senior forward Olatungie Lightfoot-Taylor (Lawrence, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Sophomore guard Darrin Duncan (Briarwood, N.Y.) netted 12 points with nine assists and five rebounds.

Merrimack never trailed in the game after opening the contest with a 14-4 run in the first five minutes. The Yellow Jackets scored 11 of the next 15 points to cut its deficit to one at 18-17 with 8:28 to go in the opening half and eventually trailed 36-29 at halftime.
AIC kept the game close throughout the second half and tied the score at 44-all five minutes into the period but were unable to take the lead. The Yellow Jackets were within five points of the Warriors with 1:23 left in the game at 79-74, but that's as close as they'd get the rest of the way.
Merrimack shot 53.6 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent from 3-points range, while AIC shot 42.9 percent from the field (27-63) and 47.6 percent from downtown.
The Yellow Jackets next travel to 19-th ranked Saint Michael's Tuesday for a Northeast-10 contest at 7:30 p.m.
