Maryann Macdonald

American International College named Maryann Macdonald as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Assistant Field Hockey Coach in August 2025.

Macdonald most recently worked with Harvard University as a Strength and Conditioning Intern in the spring semester of 2025. With the Crimson, she assisted coaches in the development and performance of nearly all the 42 varsity teams. She worked to write programs in resistance training, speed and agility, and conditioning.  

She currently works at Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Senior Medical Technologist, a career that followed eight years in the United States Army where she served as a Medical Laboratory Specialist.  

In the Army, she managed blood inventory for medical units and bases in Afghanistan, during a nine-month tour from 2017 to 2018, at Bagram Airfield, where she managed infectious disease testing for the potential donor pool and provided training on several other procedures related to blood and platelet collection and storage especially for emergency situations. Her work earned her three Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Awards, and an honorable discharge in 2019  

A 2009 graduate of the University of Hartford with a dual bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology, Macdonald earned an associate's certificate from George Washington University in medical laboratory science in 2013, and in 2025 completed a master's degree in exercise and health science with a concentration in applied exercises physiology and physical activity and health promotion from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
