NORTH ATTLEBORO, Massachusetts - The American International College softball team saw four players named to the Northeast 10 Conference's All-Conference, All-Defensive, and All-Rookie teams for the 2026 season as the league office announced the selections on Wednesday, May 6.
Nevaeh Trejo was a Second-Team All-Conference selection At-Large and the All-Defensive Team's Third Base honoree; she was joined on the All-Defensive Team by
Gabrielle Lambert at Pitcher and
Lauryn Ramalho as an At-Large selection. Finally,
Macey Burns grabbed a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Trejo followed up her 2025 NE10 All-Rookie season with an even better 2026. The sophomore third baseman led AIC with 49 hits and batted .318 on the season, while also leading the team in runs scored with 19, runs batted in with 29, and doubles with 10. She was also the toughest player on the team to strike out; among players with at least 150 at-bats, she was one of just two in the entire NE10 to strike out less than 10 times.Â
On the defensive side, she collected 89 assists and 49 putouts at the hot corner in 146 chances, helping to turn a trio of double plays as she started every game at third for AIC.
Ramalho's defense in the outfield was sensational; her range helped her to make 129 putouts, and she also added in three assists from the grass to grab her first-ever All-Defensive accolade.
Lambert was flawless defensively for the Yellow Jackets, completing all 23 chances she attempted with three putouts and 20 assists. She pitched the most innings of any hurler in the NE10 who did not commit a defensive miscue, and was one of only two to throw 100 innings in the circle with a perfect fielding percentage.
Finally, Burns impressed in her first season. Splitting time mostly between first base and right field, she hit .291 with 23 hits in 34 games, including three doubles and a triple, working eight walks for a .356 on-base percentage. She recorded 139 putouts and eight defensive assists, and was part of five double plays.
