GREENWOOD, Indiana - Five members of the American International College softball team earned 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, the organization announced on Tuesday, May 26.

AIC's honorees were a pair of seniors in Julia Krijgsman and Jilien Ayala and a trio of juniors in Brooklyn Cividanes, Morgan Bemont, and Lauryn Ramalho.

To qualify, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 on a four-point scale, and must have appeared in 90 percent or started at least 66 percent of a team's games; pitchers must have pitched 35 or more innings or made at least 17 appearances.

Krijgsman closed her career with her third consecutive Academic All-District honor. The double major in criminal justice and psychology played 149 total games in an AIC uniform as a first baseman and pitcher, including making 52 starts and 82 appearances in the circle, earning two Northeast 10 Conference All-Conference Utility honors.

Ayala earned her first Academic-All District honor as a senior, setting career highs in hits with 37 and RBI with 16 and batting .285 mostly in the second spot in the lineup while starting all 46 of her appearances in left field. She graduated with a degree in criminal justice and plans to return to pursue her master's degree.

Cividanes, also a criminal justice major, earned her second Academic All-District accolade in as many seasons. Appearing in 41 games primarily behind the dish, her .381 on-base percentage led all qualifiers on the team.

Ramalho likewise earned her second Academic All-District nod as the team's starting center fielder. The criminal justice major started every one of AIC's 48 games and scored a career-best 19 runs while working 18 walks and collecting 25 hits. Her defensive ability was recognized with an NE10 All-Defensive Team selection.

Bemont also made her second Academic All-District team. The junior nursing major was a mainstay at second base for the Yellow Jackets, and she served as the team's cleanup hitter for much of the season, with a career high in hits at 37 with seven doubles in 44 games.

Notably, Ayala and Bemont are CSC members as part of AIC's Athletic Communications student-worker staff.
