Seniors shine in Men's Volleyball regular season finale

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College men's volleyball team closed out the 2026 regular season with a 21-25, 21-25, 15-25 setback to East Coast Conference foe Dominican University on Saturday, April 18.

AIC ends the regular season at 2-20 overall and 0-6 in the ECC.

The first was a set of runs, as the teams traded long scoring streaks, including a four-point stretch for AIC that featured a pair of Victor Alamo kills, and six straight for Dominican. AIC kept it close, but ultimately the Chargers took the first.

In the second, another early four-point run helped AIC overcome a deficit, thanks again to Alamo with a block and a kill, but the Chargers regained the lead and did not relinquish it, finishing the second with a kill.

AIC had one last early run in it to tie the third at 7-7, but the Chargers scored four straight, and AIC could not catch up. The Chargers pulled away down the stretch and took the final set with four of the last five points.

Robert Santana led AIC with 13 kills, while Alamo had seven; Santana and Fabian Lugo each made six digs. JoJo Rosario dished out 26 assists and added a kill, the first of the season for him.

AIC now turns its attention to the postseason; as the fourth seed, AIC will visit No. 1 Roberts Wesleyan university for a 1:00 p.m. start on Friday, April 24 in the ECC Semifinal; the winner will face the winner of Dominican and Saint Thomas Aquinas College, which face off following the AIC-Roberts Wesleyan match, on Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m.
