RINDGE, New Hampshire - The stars shined for the American International College women's lacrosse team as
Gabrielle Walz and
Isabelle Stone combined for nine goals, but Franklin Pierce University won a 24-9 victory over the Yellow Jackets in Northeast 10 Conference play on Wednesday, March 25.
AIC is now 1-7 on the season and 0-3 in the NE10.
Stone set up Walz for the game's first goal at 1:44, after the Ravens hit the crossbar twice on their opening possession.Â
The Ravens scored five straight before AIC's next goal, a free-position strike by Walz at 11:52, immediately after a yellow card against the home side. AIC's final goal of the frame was by Stone at 13:22, also on the player advantage; after one, AIC trailed 7-3.
Stone's second of the contest was at 1:55 of the second frame, while Walz capped her first hat trick of the day at 11:13; after two, AIC was down 16-5.Â
Another free position goal for Walz came at 6:37 of the third, and she scored the next goal for AIC in the same fashion at 14:08, bringing her total to five and AIC's to seven after three frames.
Stone completed her hat trick at 1:10, notching a free position bid, and Walz closed out her second-half triple with AIC's final goal at 6:38.
On top of six goals, Walz also grabbed six draw controls.Â
AIC next plays at Pace University on Saturday, March 28 at noon in an NE10 matchup.
