Alyssa Jones announced on Wednesday, February 25 that
Dr. Daniel Griffin PT, DPT, CSCS, CF-L3, TPI and Dr. Zach Martin '24 PT, DPT, TPI will serve as the Department's physical therapists, working with student-athletes in both injury prevention and recovery.
Both are with Resilience Physical Therapy and Wellness, which was founded by Griffin in 2019.
Griffin received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Springfield College. He founded Resilience Physical Therapy and Wellness in 2019 to bring a greater awareness to the many aspects of wellness and provide quality physical therapy care in the area where the patients and their rehabilitation are the primary concern. He firmly believes in putting the patient first and truly values the uniqueness in every patient's plan of care.
Griffin also enjoys helping people live better lives outside of the clinic via coaching. He works as a Health and Wellness Instructor for the Western Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy, former CrossFit Level 3 Coach, and is Precision Nutrition certified. He is a board member for the Tactical Athlete SIG, and frequently gives lectures on Health and Wellness to law enforcement agencies around Massachusetts. Previous experience includes coaching strength and conditioning at Boston College, coaching nutrition remotely around the United States, and personal training and coaching CrossFit in the Boston area.
He is also a Medical TPI certified clinician, enabling him to use a Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to assess, diagnose and treat swing or mobility inefficiencies as they apply to the human body.
Martin received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from AIC in May 2024. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Science, with a minor in Human Biology, from the College, building a strong academic foundation in movement science and human performance. His academic background, combined with a lifelong involvement in competitive athletics, shaped his passion for helping individuals move better and perform at their highest level. With experience in lacrosse and a multitude of sports, he understands firsthand the physical and mental demands placed on athletes. This perspective allows him to connect with patients of all activity levels and guide them through rehabilitation with empathy, precision, and purpose.
He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care that empowers individuals to take an active role in their recovery. He believes in fostering resilience, building confidence, and creating sustainable strategies that extend beyond the clinic to support long-term health and performance.
Martin is also Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified, allowing him to provide specialized assessment and treatment strategies tailored to golfers looking to improve performance and reduce injury risk.
