Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball falls in season finale against Adelphi

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The 2025-26 American International College men's basketball season ended on Tuesday, February 24 with a 72-67 loss to Northeast 10 Conference foe Adelphi University.

AIC concluded the season at 5-23 with a 4-14 NE10 mark.

The game went nearly four minutes before the first field goal, although the Panthers took a 5-0 advantage as they had made two free throws on the prior possession, and led 7-0 before AIC's first points. Those came from Aguibou Balde, who made two free throws and then a layup. Adelphi continued to keep its lead at seven, making shots in response to every AIC score, and briefly led by double digits before a Blair Thomas triple cut that back just after the midpoint of the half.

Four more points by Balde cut into the gap, only to see the Panthers rise again and regain a 10-point edge with five minutes to play. AIC answered again, with Abdullah Mahamed starting a run with a layup before Tony Felder splashed a three from Coleman Hopson, who then landed a jumper of his own. Adelphi reextended the lead to six, but AIC closed further, with Amadou Diallo scoring two and Chase Nelson making the last shot of the half from deep to send AIC to the locker room down just 32-31.

In the first seven minutes of the second, AIC kept the game close, as teams traded points. A five-point surge briefly pulled the Panthers away, but the Yellow Jackets battled back again, with two straight makes by Will Davis again making it a one-point game with 6:58 to play.

The Panthers pushed again, but again AIC clawed back in, making it a one-possession game with 2:59 to go. However, the Yellow Jackets missed a few looks, and the Panthers made five free throws to ultimately earn a 72-67 win.

Felder led AIC with 19 points, making five threes. Davis grabbed seven boards.
