SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's lacrosse team closed the 2025 campaign with a 26-3 Northeast-10 Conference loss to Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, April 23.
AIC ends the season 2-14 with an 0-10 NE10 mark.
The Owls scored the game's first three goals before Kathryn Letteri finished a pass from Gabrielle Walz at 4:41. Southern Connecticut retook control from there, scoring the next 10 goals to take a 13-1 lead into the first intermission.
Shannen Salamon found Jordyn Galgay open in front of the net for a quick strike 44 seconds ito the second. It was Salamon's first point in an AIC uniform. However, the Owls scored the next five and led 18-2 at halftime.
After an early third quarter Owls goal, Gabrielle Walz drew a free position shot and converted at 3:04. That was AIC's last tally of the game as the Owls closed out with the final seven to earn the win.
Maggie Kloster made eight saves in the setback, ending the season with 178 total. That is the seventh-most in a season in program history.
For Walz, her 21 assists ranks sixth in a single season in program history, while her 55 draw controls ranks fifth; Galgay's 43 is tied for 10th-most in a season. Walz is also now tied for fifth in draw controls in program history for a career with 120, while Galgay's 30 career assists ties her for 10th all time in the team's record book.
