HOOKSETT, New Hampshire - The American International College men's soccer team saw its season end at the hands of second-seeded Southern New Hampshire University in a 4-1 defeat in the Northeast 10 Conference Championship First Round on Saturday, November 8.
AIC's season ends at 3-10-4.
Martin Zapata scored his first of the season to put the Penmen up 1-0 at 12:03 on a feed from Martin Fuentes. Fuentes later set up Felipe di Paola for his sixth of the season at 35:07, netting the Penmen a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the second, Paola struck again, this time finishing a pass from Gabriel Barroso at 61:53.
AIC broke the deadlock by drawing a penalty, and
Guilherme Afonso hit the net with his chance, scoring his first goal of the season at 76:06. However, that was as close as AIC could get, as Philipp Hermann notched a goal at 88:35 for the 4-1 result.
Javier Solá Martínez made seven saves in the setback and finished the campaign with 97 total stops.
