ROCKVILLE CENTRE, New York - The American International College field hockey team ended the 2025 season with a bang, as
Milagros Zanatelli did what no Yellow Jackets field hockey player had ever done before, scoring four goals in a 6-2 win against Molloy University in Northeast 10 Conference play on Saturday, November 1.
AIC closes out the campaign at 4-13, with a 3-9 NE10 mark.
Zanatelli opened the scoring, taking a netfront feed from
Anella Rossi and spinning it past the goalkeeper for her ninth of the year at 8:48 of the first period.Â
Rossi also scored AIC's second goal, hammering a shot on a penalty corner late in the first off of a feed from
Mar Busqueta at 14:44 for her second of the season, giving the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead through one.
In the second, the Yellow Jackets drew a penalty stroke and Zanatelli capitalized, firing the ball into the top left of the net for her 10th of the season, with the goal coming at 2:26.
The host Lions roared back, with Katie Ogurick scoring two quick goals, and the AIC lead was just one at halftime, 3-2.
Early in the third, AIC was awarded another penalty stroke. Zanatelli did not miss, firing this one into the right side of the cage for the hat trick and her 11th of the season at 1:35. It was AIC field hockey's first hat trick since September 17, 2013, when Jenna Masionis, AIC's all-time leading scorer, notched three goals against Southern Connecticut State University.
Not content with three, Zanatelli drove her way into the history books early in the fourth frame. On a penalty corner, she slammed back the rebound of a
Maddie Darling shot from the right post to the left side of the cage at 0:41, for her 12th of the season and fourth of the game, completing not only one of the rarest accomplishments in the sport, but notching a goal in each quarter of play to boot.
AIC added one more for good measure, as Rossi nabbed her second assist of the game setting up Busqueta in front for her first of the season at 2:32.
In net,
Quinlyn Moll made 13 saves to earn her second win in as many starts; she ends the season with an impressive .909 save percentage, making 40 saves on 44 shots in six appearances.
Apart from the single-game showing, Zanatelli's 12 goals are the most for the Yellow Jackets since Masionis notched 18 in the 2014 campaign. Of the dozen, 10 came in NE10 action, making her one of four players in the conference this season to reach double digits in league play.
