No. 5 Ferris State defeats Football

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The fifth-ranked Ferris State University football team won an 84-7 victory over American International College on Saturday, September 28.

AIC is now 1-3 overall.

Tyson Thornton gave the Yellow Jackets fantastic field position with an interception in the third quarter on Ferris State's 26, and the home side was able to take advantage. Lukas Kasko hit Amiyn Hanks with a pass over the middle for short yardage, and then after a holding penalty, Kasko found Brian LaFrance in the right corner of the field in front of the end zone. The wideout dodged the cornerback for the Bulldogs at the three and crossed the goal line for the touchdown.

Thornton also forced and recovered a fumble, as did Andrew Wehner. Wehner's was the first of his career.

Marcus Thurston was also credited with a fumble recovery, taking the ball after the Bulldogs muffed a punt.

The Yellow Jackets return to Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the University of New Haven.
