MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - No. 23 Saint Anselm College used a 10-goal first quarter to defeat the American International College women's lacrosse team 17-7 in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday, March 25.
AIC is now 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the NE10.
The Hawks were all over AIC early, scoring just 51 seconds in and striking 10 times in the opening frame. AIC broke the run with a man-up goal by Kathryn Moody at 1:28 of the second, as she was set up by Anevay Rice. AIC ultimately outscored the Hawks 3-2 in the frame, with AIC's other goals coming from Jordyn Galgay and an Antontella Mikolyuk free position bid.
The Hawks controlled the third, scoring all five goals, and AIC likewise controlled the fourth, netting all four goals; Gabrielle Walz put in AIC's first of the period, while Moody scored twice to complete a hat trick and Isabelle Stone added a second point on a strike after assisting Galgay's second-quarter goal.
AIC next faces Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, March 29 at 4:00 p.m. at home.
