SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College volleyball team fell in straight sets to Daemen University on Saturday, February 4.
AIC is now 1-8 on the season.
The Yellow Jackets were within 4-3 early when the Wildcats went on a run, scoring 17 out of 18 to take a commanding lead and ultimately win the first set 25-6. Another series of smaller runs in the second gave the Wildcats a 14-6 edge that they pushed to a 25-15 win, and the third went similarly, as the guests strung together three or more points four times to get ahead 19-8 before trading points to win the set 25-15 and the match 3-0.
Robert Santana led AIC with seven kills, while John Rivera Ortiz had five. Michael Maldonado notched 12 assists.
AIC will look to bounce back on Tuesday, February 7 against Sacred Heart University at 7:00 p.m. at the Butova Gym.
