SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's lacrosse team scored early and often in a 19-2 win over Caldwell University, the first win of Head Coach Rebecca Tomaszewski's career, on Sunday, February 26.

AIC put the game away early as seven different players scored in the first 9:04. Isabelle Stone, Sam Giordano, Liz Day, Jordyn Galgay, Antonella Mikolyuk, Kathryn Moody, and Gabrielle Walz all talliied goals, with Stone adding one assist and Giordano a pair, before Caldwell scored to close the period out.
The second quarter saw AIC continue to pound the back of the net. Day, Walz, and Galgay each scored, and then Day set up Moody for a pair before Giordano finished the scoring on a free position bid for a 13-1 halftime advantage.
The Cougars scored the first goal of the second half, but the rest was all AIC. Robin Trombly notched her first of the game, and then Day and Walz each finished their hat tricks by the end of the third. In the fourth, Day set up Moody and Hannah Rinehart for goals before Antonella Mikolyuk put a bow on the win with the team's 19th of the afternoon.
Marissa Long was tested a few times and fared well, coralling five shots on goal. Mikolyuk led AIC with five draw controls, including the 100th of her career.
AIC returns to Abdow Field on Wednesday, March 1 at 4:00 p.m. for a tussle with Bentley University.
