WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College baseball team's last push against Assumption University came up short as the Yellow Jackets fell by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday, April 20.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Greyhounds scored in their first at-bat to take the 1-0 lead.
- The Yellow Jackets tied the game in the third when junior Chad Lavelle was on second. Senior Angel Mendez singled to left and Lavelle came around to score.
- Assumption answered by scoring a run in the third, five in the fourth, and a run in the seventh to take the 8-1 lead.
- The Yellow Jackets started to chip away in their half of the eighth. Lavelle led the inning with a double before stealing third. Junior Michael Cruz grounded out but the Greyhounds conceded the run for an out. Caffrey singled up the middle before stealing second and scoring on a single through the left side by sophomore Michael Nazzaro to make it an 8-3 game.
- After junior Jake Timme struck out the side in the eighth, the Yellow Jackets continued to score. Freshman Jackson Haker got things going with a double down the right-field line followed by graduate Anthony Clark reaching on an error on the third basemen. They came around to score when Mendez singled to right-center. It was not enough as the Yellow Jackets fell by a score of 8-5.
