HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After a back-and-forth start, the Golden Knights earned a 2-1 lead with a goal and an assist from Eddie Baker, surrounding a tally by Rusty Stone.
  • Just 53 seconds into the second, Stone tied the game on a behind-the-back strike from Devon Walker.
  • The Golden Knights scored three straight and threatened to pull away, but Walker and Tyler Shrewsbury each scored to pull AIC back within one with 4:17 in the half. However, the Golden Knights notched another three to lead 8-4 at the break.
  • Much like the first, the third was a low-scoring affair; Stone notched his third, but Cam Smith netted two for the Golden Knights.
  • Stone opened the fourth with a goal to bring AIC within a 10-6 margin, but the Yellow Jackets would not get closer than that. Baker scored three of the five the visitors notched in the final frame, and despite Hunter Terlik's man-up marker with 3:30 to play, AIC fell 15-7.

FACE-OFF PHENOM:
  • Tyler Shrewsbury won 21 faceoffs for the Yellow Jackets and grabbed 17 ground balls.
  • The 17 ground ball pickups are the most since Michael Palmieri had 17 on March 15, 2016 against Dominican; that was also the last time a Yellow Jacket had more faceoff wins, as Palmieri won 26 that game.

NEXT UP:
  • AIC will face Bentley University at Abdow Field on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m.
