HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Bridgeport opened the scoring with goals by Danielle Kreitler and Megan Kreitler to take a 2-0 lead, but Kathryn Moody and Liz Day answered. Danielle Kreitler and Day traded goals again just 17 seconds apart in the later stages of the period before Antonella Mikolyuk put AIC ahead for the first time at 13:16.
  • Megan Kreitler tied the game midway through the second on a man-up marker, but Kaitlyn Morris hit the net. Courtney Hylok tied the game at 11:49, but Day again responded just 18 seconds later. It looked like AIC would take that 6-5 lead into the break, but Megan Kreitler stunned AIC with two goals in the final 21 seconds and put Bridgeport on top 7-6 at the half.
  • The Purple Knights took a yellow on the opening draw and Mikolyuk hit the net to tie the score just 15 seconds into the third, only to have the Purple Knights strike twice in the second minute of play. Day scored another man-up goal, and after Hylok struck for the guests, Galgay and moody scored 27 seconds apart to tie the game. Addison Plume and Moody each scored before the horn, leaving the teams level at 11-11 after three.
  • Bridgeport kept AIC at bay in the fourth, scoring three times to take a 14-11 lead. AIC had a chance to tie the game after a red card was issued with just over five minutes to play, but Anevay Rice's goal in the last minute of the contest was all the Yellow Jackets mustered as they fell 14-12.
