HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Though New Haven drew a corner kick in the first minute, there was little offense to show in the first half for either side; the Chargers managed just one shot on goal and AIC had three, including a bid in the 28th minute by senior Connor Hicks that was stopped by Ethan Silver.
- Out of the break, AIC pounced, and struck just 45 seconds in as the team pushed up and managed to get a ball to the netfront, where rookie Joseph Albano slammed home the opening tally of the match.
- New Haven tried to push back, but AIC took control of the game, firing three shots on target just after the one-hour mark and ultimately drawing a corner that rookie Martin Gael placed perfectly to the left post for Albano to tap in his second of the day at 68:34.
- The Chargers drew a penalty in the box in the 74th minute and Francisco Guedes was able to convert at 73:53 to bring the score within one.
- AIC's defense clamped down on the Chargers, preventing the visiting side from even managing a shot attempt the rest of the way as the Yellow Jackets earned the win, 2-1.
