HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1:
- Adelphi's Amanda Owens opened up the scoring in the bottom of the third when Roselli grounded out and Whitman advanced to third. From there Amanda Owens rounded third and the score.
- We didn't see much action as it was a pitching duel between AIC's Isabella Erti (2-3) who had one earned run off seven hitsand Adelphi's Ally Muller (7-2) who gave up no runs off three hits.
- In the top of the sixth inning, after Kacie Allison grounded out, Olivia Ortega singled up the middle, before Adelphi's Muller struck out Santos and Wells.
- The final inning saw AIC's Gora and Jimenez hit fly balls to center field leading up to Adelphi's senior pitcher Ally Muller to take the Panthers down the final stretch of the game and strike out Rivera to end the ball game.
Game 2:
- In the bottom of the first, Adelphi scored three runs off one hit and two errors with Camilleri, Roselli, and Whitman scoring.
- The Panthers loaded the bases again in the bottom of the first before Chloe Jones forced a foul out to end the inning.
- Chloe Jones was replaced by senior first baseman Kacie Allison in the circle in the bottom of the third. Adelphi scored on an triple by Pineda, which sent Camilleri home.
- In the top of the fourth, Yellow Jackets pitcher Allison hit a double to right field, out at third, and brought Ortega home to make it a 4-1 game.
- Emily Whitman hit a triple just inside the right-field foul line to bring in Owens for the score, and then next at-bat after a miscommunication at home, Lauren O'Neill touched the plate to open up the game and make it 6-1.
- Pineda hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth off a sinker that ended Kacie Allison's day in the circle after she came in as relief for starting pitcher Chloe Jones. Coming in for relief of Allison was freshman Riley Sullivan.
- At the top of the seventh inning with the sun slowly setting and two outs; Gora doubled to center field, which brought Acampora home to make it 8-2. The game ended on a line drive to third by Wells, which ended the game with AIC losing 8-2.
