HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Adelphi's Kole Pollock scored the game's first goal just 46 seconds into the contest, but AIC bounced back, as graduate student Krista Iwanicki cut past two defenders near the top of the eight-meter arc and fired home her shot at 2:35 to tie the score 1-1.
  • The Panthers went on a run shortly after, retaking the lead at 3:05 and getting ahead 7-1 over the following 10:32 of play, with Pollock scoring three more times and setting up another.
  • Rookie Anevay Rice blunted the host side's run; she snagged the rebound of a shot by sophomore Kaitlyn Morris and stuffed it home at the midpoint of the period for AIC's second tally.
  • The Panthers put together another run to build their lead to 12-2 at 27:50, with the final goal of the run netted by Christina McCabe, and the home team took that advantage into the halftime break.
  • Adelphi continued the run after the stoppage, getting ahead 16-2 at 13:25 of the middle frame before AIC called a timeout.
  • The Panthers closed out the win despite a late free-position goal by Iwanicki, taking the game 20-3.

THE END OF AN ERA:
  • The finale marked the end of the AIC careers of graduate student Chelsea Davis and senior Devin Coulter.
  • Coulter wrapped up with 113 draw controls, good for fifth-most in program history, and tied for sixth in caused turnovers with 57 for her career.
  • Davis scooped 180 ground balls for her career, breaking the program's record and tying for 15th in NE10 history.
  • Her save against Pollock late in the second half marked her 500th career stop, making her just the fourth goalkeeper in program history to reach the milestone.
