Men's lacrosse drops senior day matchup with No. 11 Saint Anselm

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 17-1 to No. 11 Saint Anselm College on Wednesday, April 21 in Northeast-10 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first period was a tight battle, with the Hawks managing just two goals thanks to strong defense and four stops by freshman goalkeeper Ryan Day.
  • Day continued to battle, with six stops in the second, but the Hawks built to a 9-0 halftime advantage.
  • In the third, the visiting squad added to its edge, going up 16-0.
  • AIC snapped the shutout in the fourth, as redshirt sophomore Sal Amaral stole the ball deep in his own defensive end and traveled most of the field dodging Hawks defenders before feeding classmate Jason Vickery near the cage for a goal at 7:16.
