GARDEN CITY, New York A strong first quarter provided the margin of victory for No. 7 Adelphi University against the American International College men's lacrosse team on Saturday, March 27 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Panthers pounced early, with Nicolas Racalbuto scoring three of the host's six goals in the first 11:01 before rookie midfielder Tyler Shrewsbury put AIC on the board late in the frame. Adelphi held a 7-1 lead through one frame.
- Redshirt sophomore Avery Foye hit the twine for AIC in the second frame as the defense more effectively slowed Adelphi's attack. At the break, the Panthers were up 10-2.
- Out of halftime, Adelphi netted two goals, but AIC countered with a pair of its own as senior Cam Menard and redshirt sophomore Jason Vickery each tickled the twine.
- In the final frame, AIC and Adelphi each struck three times. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior co-captain Matt Quinlan, who set up goals for Vickery and redshirt sophomore Rusty Stone before netting one of his own to close out the scoring for AIC in the 16-7 final.
SAVE MEE, NICK:
- Rookie goalkeeper Nick Mee turned in a strong showing, playing 27:47 in the second half and stopping eight of 13 chances for the Panthers.
- The freshman has a .545 save percentage through his first pair of games this season.
