Quartet of Yellow Jackets score in double digits in men's basketball loss at Post

WATERBURY, Connecticut – The American International College men's basketball team headed to Waterbury, Connecticut for a non-conference showdown with the Post University Eagles. Despite being tied at halftime, the Yellow Jackets fell 82-70 on Wednesday, December 1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Twelve seconds into the game, graduate Xion Golding hit a three to take the early lead. After forcing a bad shot on the other end, junior Walter Covington found the bottom of the net from deep to put the Yellow Jackets up 6-0 early.
  • Halfway through the first half, the score was tied at 15. The teams battled back and forth, as in the final 10 minutes of the opening frame the teams traded the lead or were tied 12 times. After 20 minutes of play, the Yellow Jackets and Eagles were tied at 40.
  • Freshman Donovan Miller opened the final stanza with a jumper that gave the Yellow Jackets the lead.
  • The Eagles started to pull away at the 14:06 mark when they went on a 12-4 run over the next seven minutes to take the 67-56 lead. Post continued to extend their lead as they shot 51.8 percent in the second half and took the game 82-70.
