SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's volleyball team solidified a top three Northeast-10 Conference finish with a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm College on Friday, November 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks were red hot in the first set as they took the set 25-21.
- While the Hawks had an early 8-5 lead in the second set the Yellow Jackets started to turn things on. At 9-7 rookie Paolo Soto-Burgos started a run by the Yellow Jackets as they went on an 8-2 run to take the 15-11 lead.
- Leading 21-18 newcomer Ulrika Blomgen recorded a kill that allowed the Yellow Jackets to start to pull away. Graduate Andrea Serra-Rosa and sophomore Mai-Lani Hernandez sent back an attack before the Yellow Jackets forced an error to earn set point. Serra-Rosa ended the second set at 25-18 to even the match.
- The Yellow Jackets took an early 6-2 lead in the third set as they continued to roll. Leading 11-6 the Yellow Jackets went on a 7-1 run to extend their lead to 10. Trailing by 11, the Hawks brought it to 23-16 before the Yellow Jackets took the set 25-19.
- Leading 13-11 the Yellow Jackets extended their lead to 20-12 before taking the set 25-19 and ending the match 3-1.
SWEET SIXTEEN:
- AIC continued to extend the program's record winning streak, reaching 16 consecutive victories for the first time.
- The Yellow Jackets have taken 48 out of the past 52 sets during the streak.
PLAYOFFS? WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFFS?:
- The Yellow Jackets clinched at worst a third seed in the NE10 Tournament with the possibility of taking the top spot with a win and losses by Stonehill College and the University of New Haven.
