HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Post opened the scoring quickly, as Athlyn Wood struck just 49 seconds in for the Eagles; by the 10-minute mark, the visiting team had built up a 3-0 edge.
- AIC broke the shutout at the 11:10 mark, as junior Reagan Nichols hit the back of the net, sparking a run by the Yellow Jackets. Classmate Emilee Giacondino scored at 13:33, and rookie Catherine Desrochers tied the game at 16:08.
- AIC found itself down a player thanks to a yellow card, but sophomore Molly Leavitt kept the offense going anyway, giving her team the lead at 18:48, and then struck again at 20:53 to put the team up two.
- The run continued for the Yellow Jackets, with junior Devin Coulter and freshman Liz Day striking just 27 seconds apart to give the hosts a 7-3 edge with 6:40 remaining in the half.
- Post broke AIC's control of the offense in the final five minutes, as Jaylene Souto and Wood each tallied before the half ended to make the contest a 7-5 affair.
- The Yellow Jackets came out of the break ready to go, and Leavitt set up Coulter just 1:02 into the second frame to start a strong stretch for AIC; Day and Giacondino each scored for the Yellow Jackets, who held the Eagles off the board for the first 16 minutes of the period.
- Cara DiStefano scored a goal for Post at 17:10 and then set up Wood for the hat trick shortly after to get the Eagles back into it.
- Nichols found Coulter open in front for a goal at 20:05, but Hailey McHenry responded 50 seconds later.
- Late in the game, Post made a push, as Lauren Chambers scored with 3:21 left to make the contest 11-9; the Eagles then drew a free position shot with 2:00 on the clock, but senior goalkeeper Chelsea Davis made the stop, and the Eagles never significantly threatened again as AIC earned the win.
