Men's lacrosse falls to No. 9 Adelphi

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College men's lacrosse team fell 24-2 to No. 9 Adelphi University in the team's Northeast-10 Conference opener on Saturday, March 7.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Panthers won the opening faceoff and immediately got a shot off for an early 1-0 lead, and went on a run from there, scoring seven more goals in the first quarter to lead 8-0 over AIC. Nicolas Racalbuto scored four of the eight goals for the Panthers.
  • Angelo Caiazzo struck first in the second quarter to extend the Panthers lead.
  • Adelphi scored five more goals before sophomore Avery Foye got AIC on the board before the first half came to an end. The Yellow Jackets trailed Adelphi 14-1 at the half.
  • In the first six minutes of the third quarter, the Panthers scored five straight goals before junior Cam Menard broke Adelphi's scoring streak.
  • Adelphi would find the back of the net five more times, defeating AIC 24-2.
  • Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Vincent Orlandi recorded a career-high 24 saves in the loss to the Panthers.
